Messonghi is a relatively unspoilt, small and uncomplicated resort running parallel to the sea for about a mile, and separated from its close neighbour Moraitika by the Messonghi River. The former fishing village of Messonghi is on the south-east coast of Corfu, 14 miles south of the capital, Corfu Town and the airport. Other east coast resorts are accessed by buses on the main coast road. And remember, in Messonghi is also effectively a visit in the sister resort of Moraitika Corfu, which offers far more in the way of bars, clubs and discos and is easily walkable from Messonghi. Take time to visit the original village of Ano Moraitika, a contrast from the main resort with its narrow lanes and picturesque unspoilt little flower-decked houses
